Indian Bhang Recipe

Ingredients

3 grams (1/8 ounce) butter
2 cups milk
1-2 grams of hash or cannabis
pinch of spice (cinnamon or nutmeg, depending on your tastes)


Method

Melt butter in pan, add ground cannabis and simmer for one minute, then add milk. After gently warming, add any additional spices you’d like. We suggest cinnamon, nutmeg, or honey. For an added punch, toss in some vodka.



Bhang Ki Thandai recipe

To make bhang ki thandai, you will need a clean work surface, a good-sized plastic or ceramic mixing bowl, a pestle and mortar, and a fine straining material such as muslin (cheesecloth).

  • 400ml water
  • 15-25g fresh female cannabis leaves and flowers
  • 800ml milk
  • ¼ tsp each: garam masala, ginger, fennel
  • ½ tsp aniseed, cardamom powder
  • 200g sugar
  • Rose petals, mint leaves, chopped almonds to garnish
Method:

There are various methods to prepare bhang ki thandai; here we will use a simple method that does not involve any heating, but other techniques involve simmering the cannabis in milk or water for several hours.

First, grind all the dry ingredients to powder using the pestle and mortar and set aside

Next, pound the fresh cannabis to a pulp and add to the bowl along with the water and sugar

Add the dry ingredients to the bowl and set aside for two hours

Strain the mixture using fine muslin, until the residue is dry to the touch

Add milk to the extracted liquid, and chill until ready to serve

Prior to serving, garnish with chopped nuts, rose petals or mint leaves

This recipe should yield around 8 glasses of bhang ki thandai. If desired, the method and quantities used can be modified to obtain the best results.

Serve your bhang ki thandai in tall glasses, making sure that is it well-chilled, and be sure to exercise caution as the effect can vary greatly according to the potency of the cannabis used, the tolerance of the individual and various other factors.



Thandai Recipes

Ingredients:

15 almonds
2 tsp aniseed
2 tsp poppy seeds
8 cardamom pods
12 tsp sugar
2 tsp peppercorns
2 tsp cumin seeds

Method:

Grind all the spices, with the almonds separate. Blend together in a large bowl, and add water and milk. Strain through cheesecloth until liquid is smooth. Serve cold.
Serves 4-5

Thandai Recipes

Ingredients:

250 gms sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 litre milk
10 almonds, soaked in water and peeled
6 pepper corns
4 cardamoms, crushed
2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
1 tsp khus essence (poppy seeds)
Few ice cubes, crushed

Method:

Grind well the peeled almonds, cardamom and fennel seeds to a fine paste and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Strain the mixture well.
Take crushed ice cubes in a glass till half and fill the rest with the above mixture.
Serve garnished with rose petals.
Makes for 12 glasses
